Christine Clarke is a certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapist (IAYT), under the Krishnamacharya lineage, registered Yoga Teacher and certified Scoliosis Yoga Trainer.
She began practicing yoga in 1992 and began teaching classes, workshops and retreats in 2003.
Since 2011, supporting clients one-to-one in their healing journey, is Christine's focus. A holistic approach to the health of body, mind and soul... one that honours each person as unique. Not only in DNA but also how a person arrives at imbalance and ultimately dis-ease.
Before becoming a yoga therapist, Christine discovered thoracolumbar scoliosis in her own spine and, in fact, group yoga classes worsened this condition. It was her own yoga therapy that resulted in a remarkable recovery to full health; one that went far beyond the spine.
Christine's vibrant health comes from her experience and deep knowledge as a yoga therapist.
In addition to working with students one-on-one in a therapeutic environment, Christine teaches group classes of several styles of hatha yoga. Her teaching style honours each student’s capabilities and limitations. Christine supports, nurtures and motivates students with a sense of humour and compassionate nature. Classes offer options that are mindful of life stage, age, overall health and body type.
